Kvalifikationer:

The Department of Electrical Engineering invites applicants for a 3-year PhD position at our Electromagnetic Systems group.

The purpose of the proposed PhD project is to address the challenges of high-field magnetic resonance (MR) imaging by introducing new concepts to the design of radio frequency (RF) coils. The study also includes investigation of promising acquisition concepts such as parallel imaging based on multi-channel arrays.

The study will be conducted in close collaboration with Professor Andrew Webb, Leiden University Medical Center, therefore, the PhD student will spend 6-12 months in Leiden, the Netherlands.'

Qualifications
The applicants should fulfil the following requirements:

Mandatory:

• MSc in engineering or equivalent qualification, preferably in electrical engineering
• Knowledge of electromagnetics and circuit design
• Basic knowledge of specific simulations software (CST/HFSS, Agilent ADS etc.)
• Collaborative abilities and be able to work efficiently and independently

A 3-year PhD position is available at the Biomedical Engineering group of DTU Elektro and the Danish Research Center for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR).

The research topic is within advanced MR imaging in combination with realistic volume conduction modeling of the human head. The project is financed by a grant awarded by the Lundbeck foundation.

PhD project description
Volume conductor models of the head play a key role in brain stimulation to estimate the position and extent of stimulated tissue. Similarly, they are used in EEG and MEG to localize the source regions of the measured signals. The construction of accurate head models from MRI is now possible (see www.simnibs.de). However, very basic assumptions on the tissue conductivities are still insufficiently verified, causing an error of unknown size in the calculations.

Hevesy Laboratoriet søger en kemiker eller farmaceut til en stilling som forsker.

Hevesy Laboratoriet er et forskningsprogram i Center for Nukleare Teknologier på DTU Risø Campus. I programmet satses på forskning, udvikling og produktion af radioaktive lægemidler og biologiske sporstoffer. Laboratoriet er udstyret med en 16.5 MeV cyklotron til in house produktion af radioaktive isotoper samt moderne forskningslaboratorier og renrum.

Vi er 27 personer i et multidisciplinært team, der både arbejder med forskning og produktion. Blandt forskningsaktiviteterne kan nævnes F-18 kemi, radioaktivt mærkede nanopartikler, Tritium kemi og Auger emittere til radionuklid terapi.

Jobbet
Du vil blive involveret i udviklingen af radioaktivt mærkede lægemidler samt i produktionen af disse. Du forventes desuden at udføre selvstændig forskning i nye potentielle sporstoffer samt teknikker til sikker og effektiv radio-mærkning af biologisk relevante molekyler.

Center for Energy Resources Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, has an opportunity to support a post-doctoral position in the framework of the project

"MAPS – Multicomponent Adsorption of Polar (and associating) Substances"

The position is for one year, with a possibility for extension for the second year. The job should ultimately start from 1^st of August 2013.

Description of the project
The project is supported by Statoil (Norway). It is a modeling project directed onto extension of the Multicomponent Potential Adsorption Theory (MPTA). This is a predictive thermodynamic approach to adsorption based on segregation in an external force field. The goal is to extend this theory onto more difficult mixtures. It should be made capable of predicting adsorption of the polar and associating substances from water solutions on silica-gels and other adsorbents, as required for some industrial processes applied by Statoil

A PhD Scholarship in Population Genetics is available at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) with starting date 1st September 2013.

The project will primarily be carried out in the Section for Marine Living Resources’ Population Genetics group in Silkeborg, Denmark. The PhD project is a part of a European Union joint research project assessing genetic effects of aquaculture on wild fish populations. The project is coordinated by DTU Aqua. It started November 2012 and finishes October 2016. The PhD project will have an independent profile and will be carried out in collaboration with international research partners. The successful applicant will be expected to take part in experimental work during shorter stays in Norway. 

The purpose of DTU Aqua is to provide research, advice and education at the highest international level within the sustainable exploitation of living marine and freshwater resources, the biology of aquatic organisms and the development of ecosystems as well as their integration in ecosystem-based management.

A position as researcher in the Dept of Geodynamics at the National Space Institute, Technical University of Denmark, is vacant for appointment as soon as possible.

The applicant is expected to cooperate with other researchers in the department, and carry out independent research in methods for determining the Earth’s gravity field, and its applications in physical geodesy and geodynamics. Special focus will be on developing and improving methods to observe the gravity field by in-situ measurements, airborne and satellite measurements (GRACE and GOCE). A close cooperation with the Danish Geodata Agency is expected for government consulting tasks within the Kingdom of Denmark (including Greenland and the Faeroe Islands).
