Do you want to design innovative solutions that maintain us as a market leader? We are looking for a motivated and pragmatic CFD Specialist for the Product Development department part of the Cement Division, Global Technology Centre in FLSmidth. Here you will work closely with 23 other enthusiastic colleagues committed to derive and design products for our cement business areas. The position is based in Copenhagen.
Develop burners, calciners, numerical models etc.
You will join the Mechanical and Fluid Analysis team, where you and your colleagues focus on securing FLSmidth’s leading position within numerical two-phase/combustion technologies. Relying on your specialist skills, you will contribute to the development of:
- vertical mills, burners and other essential equipment
- numerical models that can handle any geometry with any kind of fuel
- new products
- minimising erosive wear
- reducing emissions and waste
On a daily basis, you will also support trouble-shooting of existing equipment, just as you optimise online plants. You will be working in close cooperation with colleagues in all of our global R&D offices as well as with other departments and our test centre Dania. This means that your daily interactions will cover time zones from India to USA and you will have 1-3 weeks of travel activity per year.
MSc with creative mindset and vast knowledge of CFD
You hold a Master’s degree in Fluid Dynamics, preferably combined with experience in chemical reactions. You have vast knowledge of CFD and know what it can and cannot do. You are now ready for a position where you can further explore these boundaries and preferably find ways to push them. This calls for a highly creative mindset and the desire to contemplate innovative solutions 24/7. If you are conversant with terms such as Arrhenius Rate Reactions, Numerical Discretisation Schemes or Navier-Stokes, then we strongly urge you to apply. You must have solid analytical skills and thrive in a role where you work with people across a global organisation. To this end, you also need good communication skills.
Your source to the good working life
When you join FLSmidth, you take off for a career in an international environment, where you always work with the latest technologies – whether you are building a plant in the desert or working in a city office. You will be trusted to complete your projects your own way, without an A-Z manual, and you will work with customers, suppliers and colleagues all over the world. Further, you will receive individual training, education and an insurance plan - and have the flexibility to balance your work life with your private life.
